Best way to spend a Sunday? A Sunday brunch and lots of cocktails. Not my words, but the words of Chef Akira Back himself. AND I’m in agreement. A big thank you to Chef for having me over on Sunday to try out their new winter brunch menu at his namesake restaurant at JW Marriott in Aerocity, New Delhi. How could I say no to this fabulous mix of Korean & Japanese cuisine…and Sake?!
It was still one of the warmer winter days so I could manage in a fun H&M dress but nothing too girly I believe. That bag was a huge hit with everyone. Some people actually suggested that it would make a great weapon too because it’s a bit heavy. Hope you guys enjoy the pics. Pardon me smiling like a retard while posing with Chef Akira Back – it was after the brunch and I had definitely had more cocktails than usual.
My absolute favorite EVER! The Tuna Pizza – Carpaccio of tuna on crispy tortilla perfected with truffle slices & truffle oil, garnished with micro greens and radish.
It’s light & refreshing and the way I eat it is – I make a sandwich of two slices facing each other.
Tacos – Crispy gyoza shell filled with marinated Lamb, chicken & soy kalbi tossed in kalbi sauce and finished with spicy tomato ponzu. Another great crispy on the outside and soft & tender on the inside snacky type ot item.
Sake!! Lots & lots of it.
An assortment of skewers:
Negima – Chicken & scallions grilled on charcoal and finished with teriyaki sauce.
Ebi Shiso Pesto – Prwans skewered with cherry tomato finished with shiso pesto sauce.
Pork Belly – 15 hours braised pork belly grilled on binchotan coal served with apple miso sauce.
And a red snapper
The new Bento Box served with an assortment of Sashimi salad with wasabi yuzu dressing, miso soup, assorted pickled vegetables, fried brussel sprouts with prawn in chili vinaigrette, tomago with kabayaki sauce, mixed seafood & vegetable tempura.
Dessert was Mini Lava Cakes – Valrhona Chocolate mini lava cakes served on a bed of chocolate dust & homemade vanilla ice-cream.
Some pics of what I wore that day:
